Today's post is pretty short and sweet. Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have one class so I woke up at 7:45 and went to the gym. I am still recovering from the backpacking trip so I wasn't too stoked with my results today, but I think I'll go on a little night run tonight to make up for it. Afterwards, met up with some of the most amazing friends, not only are they awesome because of their personalities but also because I did not purchase a breakfast meal plan this year and they are so awesome that they smuggled be a skillet packed with protein after my workout! Want to make me the happiest person? Give me a good meal post workout :) Like I've said before I'm pretty blessed with my friends here.
Got a lot of homework done, I'm working really hard to stay up with school. Even though I haven't had a lot of homework assignments it's still really easy to just show up to class, not understand the lectures then go hang out with friends afterwards. So.. because I plan on going on many other Outdoor Program adventures I want to keep up with all my school work.
Going over to North Ave. Dorms tonight to watch the season finale of Pretty Little Liars with all my girls along with every other teen girl in the country I'm sure! :) Happy Tuesday!
P.S. Took my first Psychology 233 quiz today and got an A!! whoop whoop
This is the second edition to Life on a Meal Plan. After moving back to Oregon for a year I am finally returning to Colorado and continuing my story. Check in for updates on my new adventures and of my life here at "Life After a Meal Plan".

Meals of the Wilderness
This weekend was my first weekend of college (not counting move in weekend) and ohmygoodness was it awesome. The picture above is a pic of Kendra and I hiking a Fourteener called Mt. Sneffles. It was so beautiful to see Colorado and all it's beauty at fourteen thousand feet. We left Saturday at 7 a.m. and hiked to the blue lakes on Mt. Sneffles, which were a gorgeous turquoise kind of blue. We went with a group of people who signed up for the hike through CMU's Outdoor Program. Once we reached about 12,000 feet (I believe) we set up tents and had a wilderness adventure. There is nothing more wonderful then spending time with a group of awesome people surrounded by nothing but the beauty of God's artistic creation.
Isn't it funny how much better food tastes when you've worked for it? For whatever reason our beans and chicken burritos at camp that night tasted like 5 star dining. That night I definitely froze my toes off but the next day made it all worth it. Hiked, rock climbed, and shimmied by way up that mountain, and the view was breathtaking. You could see for miles and miles. Its always so humbling knowing just how little we really are, and how wonderful and mighty everything around us is. It's safe to say this will not be the last of my adventures out here in Colorado. It's also safe to say I am not the most graceful of hikers haha pretty much tumbled and slid my way down the mountain. lol It didn't slow me down though!
Hiked down and made it home around 7 pm on Sunday. I think I have a little bit of an eye infection in both my eyes, they are pretty red and uncomfortable. But keep it in your prayers and hopefully if I keep them clean they will heal quickly. Hiking made me think of Oregon and how much I miss and love everyone back home but how blessed I feel to have made some already amazing friends that I feel like I've known my whole life not to mention that this is where God definitely planned for me to be. It's amazing. I'll post some more pictures once I get them downloaded! Hope everyone had as amazing of a weekend as me:)

Freshman 15?
More like 15lbs lost!Ok well maybe not that much but i seem to be going in the opposite direction of the norm among college freshman. I have already lost weight! It could be all the walking from class to class or visiting my friends dorm which is on the COMPLETE opposite side of campus or it could be all the awesome fun things there are to do in Colorado. Last night I went slacklining with Kenzie, Kendra, Michaela, Rain, and had a blast. Until we were told to take it down:/ Although, I have also recently decided to take up longboarding, it's a fast and not to mention FUN way to get around campus.
I will be getting ready to go backpacking this weekend with Kendra. And I am STOKED! We are climbing Mt. Sneffels on a two day trip with a group of people. It looks like it should be a really beautiful Fourteeern (which I originally thought was the NAME of the mountain until I was politely informed by Kendra in front of the instructor is not the case) haha thanks. I feel like I am learning new stuff about Colorado every day but I'm lucky to have some friends that will explain the terms to me after first laughing at my lack of knowledge (like true friends) lol
I feel as though I should also mention (mainly for my mother) but also those who read this blog and see how much fun it is to live in a place with all your peers and surrounded by so many things to do together, college is also hard. Between the laughing and fun with everyone I am stressfully studying (I promise mom and dad) haha My policy is Work Hard Play Hard. And I intend on having a successfull and adventurous year doing just that.
As for today, I woke up, went to my English class where my the professor is so cool he wears lime green laces with his work suit. Then I went to the gym it's STA today so hit that pretty well and now I am off to the cafeteria to have some lunch with the girls before my last class today which is my Anatomy Lecture class (and also my most difficult). I'll definitely post some pictures after this weekend from the backpacking trip! I love my home away from home <3

Dining Hall Dinner, Yummy Spinach wrap
Such an eventful day! Had another first class today. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have one class which is very awesome. I woke up and made it to the MavCenter early this morning. (It is DEFINITELY the best time because apparently college guys don't wake up till afternoon) Got a good back workout in. Then went to the bookstore and was able to purchase some new books and other school necessities. My teachers keep on throwing new stuff at us that we need to get for the course that wasn't on our required materials list before school..wonderful. Anyway, I have to give complete props to Mrs. Warren at SMHS because I got my Anatomy Lab Syllabus today and totally know like 70% of it already! Thanks to her wonderful teaching. Plus the professor gives her tests and teaching lessons in the same way. So all those still in Medford make sure to grab a seat in Mrs. Warren's Anatomy Honors class!
After that I went to the Outdoor Program on campus and signed up for an awesome backpacking trip this weekend! It was a little spendy but I am STOKED to spend the weekend hiking and conquering the mountains of Colorado on an overnight backpacking trip. I feel like it's definitely going to be worth the money. I love how in college it's so easy to get connected to a wide array of people! A couple of some awesome girls I've met on campus invited me to go to a rugby practice with them tonight. I was a little hesitant but it was awesome. The whole atmosphere of Rugby is so down to earth. Everyone kicks the crap out of each other during practice but loves and becomes a really close team. And one thing I have is a new respect for rugby players, it is a HARD sport.
I'm gonna need this.
After which we ran to the dorms to catch the new episode of Pretty Little Liars. I seriously love college, the classes are tough but I know I have the determination and organization to work hard and play hard at the same time. My advice to those in or going into college is meet the right people. I feel like I've been incredibly blessed with the amazing, awesome and fun people that I've already become so close too. Love you guys <3

Oatmeal for Breakfast, Lunch.. TBD
Day 4:
So It's Day 4 of Life on a Meal Plan. And I must say the cafeteria is pretty decent. Most of the things they make are fresh and and made on the spot. I'm sure it will get old fast. But as for now I'm feeling pretty blessed.
Worked out at the MavCenter every day so far and it's a nice facility. I am kind of bummed with the lack of weights compared to the gym at home. Especially the fact that they don't know how to place gym equipment in Colorado apparently. I was trying to work out Hams yesterday and of course the standing ham curl machine is RIGHT in front of the chest press... that was awkward. haha but i made it through :)
Post gym workout was the toga party got ready earlier with a few awesome girls I met Sunday morning! The campus sponsored the toga party and it was pretty fun just to dance and be outside on the campus.
TODAY WAS MY FIRST DAY OF CLASSES! I've already had my English 112 with McLeod and he seemed really down to earth. The way he works his class is so familiar because it's the same way Schu taught her Lit class last year. Still have a couple classes today, Anatomy and Physiology with Hampton (that's a familiar name if you took chem at South) then I have Psych class with Sunkel at 3.
I guess what I'm saying is everything is pretty awesome here in Grand Junction, Colorado. I feel at home on the campus, like it was made for me and other people like me. Hope the rest of my classes go well today and I will post some pics of the toga party when I get my hands on some.
Happy Monday!!

Salad for lunch, and Tofu for dinner
Day 1...
Started out a little rocky. Woke up and got moved in around 10 a.m. Took me all afternoon but finally organized everything. Turns out it is very easy to over pack for dorm life! haha but no worries just got all my winter clothes stored under my bed (which pulls down from the wall btw).
Started to hit reality around 4:30 that i know NO ONE. That can be a bit of a downer living on your own in a new state without even familiar faces. So I hit the gym and got a pretty decent workout in.
STA today, however I skipped the traps. Turns out girls don't really like to lift weights around here, so while every. single. elliptical and stair stepper was taken up I was stepping in the "boys" territory and getting some obvious looks. My workout partners back home have thoroughly prepared me for this and I felt like I took the Rec Center by STORM! ;)
Safe to say I was feeling better after that. Made some AWESOME friends who happen to be my balcony mates:) They are so personable and sweet. We hit it off right away and went and jumped in on some campus t-shirt tie-dying. Safe to say Day 1 was a good stepping stone.
Here's to hoping this is just the beginning of an awesome year.
